Things are slowly chugging along with bedroom renovation. We finished installing all of the panelling and trim work this weekend and now it’s all ready for me to fill, sand and paint this week. Last week, told you about how this room makeover is going to be a little different from most others that I’ve shared. I am planning this one out together, in real-time, and my hope is to take you along every step of the way too. So rather than sharing a plan that’s already all figured out (which felt impossible to put together with an 8-year-old all at once), I thought it might be fun to share more of the process along the way, taking you through each aspect of the space as we work our way through it all. Last week, I shared some of our favourite bed options here on the blog, all with a modern cottage-style vibe. This week, I wanted to show you some of the wall lamps we considered (& which ones we are leaning towards). Scroll through to see them all below…
Some of these certainly lean more modern, and some more cottage, but I think they’d all be a great fit in Carson’s new modern cottage-style bedroom space. I think he’s narrowed his top picks down to numbers two, three and six because “they look very old & fancy”, luckily those just so happen to be my favourite options too. At this particular moment, I think we’re leaning toward option two, but in the gold colour, I think. Which one is your favourite?
I’m hoping to get a pair ordered up this weekend, one for either side of his bed. After reading stories for more than five years by the light of one tiny little lamp, I think this is going to be HUGE improvement for our stories at bedtime (I can’t believe I hadn’t thought of this sooner!). Here’s hoping I’ll have more progress to share later this week, including a mood board now that we’ve got most of the design decisions behind us.
