Then, he looked up at the light filtering through the clouds in the morning glow, each cloud casting different shades and shadows—this was the inspiration for the "Layers" series: how to use the layered structure of glass to recreate the soft, diffused effect and sense of depth of natural light?
The Leap from Draft to Digital Model
The Passion in the Manuscript
After a surge of inspiration, Jack immediately returned to his studio. He picked up a pencil, and his desk was covered with sketch papers of various sizes. He used the most raw and direct lines to outline the subtle distances and curves between the glass layers. Every circle, every line, contained his repeated refinement of the light diffusion effect.
