Both the lines of the lamp and the two tiered lampshade are beautiful and well-made, but it may be useful for buyers to know that the fabric used for the lampshade is very silky, which gives it a sheen when the light is off. (You can't see this in the photos because when the light is turned on you don't see the sheen.) Many people will love this look, but if you prefer a more textured linen or parchment style shade, be aware that this one is quite shiny. It would have been useful to know this before ordering, even though we still would have bought the lamp for its lovely curved design.
