Temperature and patina decide most specifications. Learn them once, and choosing — or matching metals across a whole room — becomes far simpler.
Temperature
Warm silver vs. cool silver
The most common mix-up among mirror-bright metals. Both are polished to a true mirror — the difference is the cast of the light they return.
Polished Nickel
Warm. A faint gold cast in the silver — softer, timeless, the classic choice.
Polished Chrome
Cool. A clean, slightly blue mirror — the most modern and reflective option.
Patina
Levels of patina
How much age a brass should wear — three depths of the same metal, from honest and new to collected-over-years.
Natural
Honest, matte gold. No ageing — warms further with time.
Vintage
Deeper, even patina. Settled and refined, never spotty.
Antiqued
Heavily aged. Blackened detail; collected-over-years character.
