I bought this for my apartment that had no overhead light in the bedroom and it worked perfectly by attaching to the ceiling with hooks and adding a smart lightbulb connected to my phone. Super useful and I highly recommend it.

I kept buying wall sconces or lamps to light my sons room that had no ceiling light but nothing seemed to work, or give the whole room light. This changed all that! Even comes with hooks to hook to ceiling. It lights the entire room, with no problem! If you are looking for a light for a room with no ceiling fixture, this is it.
