Why does the alabaster look different from the photos?
Because it's real stone. Alabaster is a natural material, so the veining, color depth, and translucency vary from piece to piece — no two shades are identical, and yours will not match the photos exactly. This natural variation is part of the material's character and is not a defect.
What finishes are available?
The Anculia frame comes in three finishes: Antique Bronze (warm and traditional), Black (bold and modern), and Satin Nickel (soft, cool, and contemporary). Choose the one that best matches your existing hardware and fixtures.
Are bulbs included? What kind should I use?
No bulbs are included. The Anculia takes E12 or E14 candelabra base bulbs, MAX 15W each — note this is the smaller base, not the standard E26/E27. We recommend warm white LED candelabra bulbs to bring out the glow of the alabaster while staying cool and efficient.
How is it installed?
The Anculia is a hardwired wall sconce — it connects to a wall electrical box, so we recommend a licensed electrician. It's designed for indoor dry locations only, and works beautifully in pairs flanking a bed, mirror, fireplace, or doorway.

There are two main types — Gypsum and Calcite — with the latter being the preferred choice for lighting fixtures due to its durability and natural veining.
The unique quality of alabaster is its ability to diffuse light in a soft, warm glow, making it a favorite for creating ambient lighting. It is often found in shades of white, ivory, and cream, though pink, amber, and gray variations also exist — each adding its own warmth to a room’s atmosphere.
