RESUMEN
La Lámpara de Pie Akari forma parte de las esculturas de luz Akari, diseñadas en 1951 por el artista nipo-estadounidense. Eligió el nombre 'Akari' para estos objetos, una palabra que significa 'luz' en japonés, evocando tanto la iluminación como la levedad física.
La inspiración para el diseño de las luces Akari surge de una visita al pueblo pesquero japonés de Gifu, donde observó a los pescadores trabajando. No solo utilizaban cormoranes amaestrados para la pesca, sino también linternas para atraer peces. Estas linternas tenían nervaduras de bambú, cubiertas con papel fino.
Tomó el diseño de estas linternas tradicionales para crear esculturas de luz confeccionadas en madera y papel. Para la Lámpara de Pie Akari, el diseñador utiliza papel de la morera, porque suaviza la luz, haciéndola delicada y difundiéndola de manera uniforme.

Very nice floor lamp that provides light in a otherwise dark corner of a room. the shade is white, it looks beige in the image. Lightbulbs are not included so that you can order a warm or cool light bulbs depending on your desire.
