Because it's real stone. Alabaster is a natural material, so the veining, color depth, and translucency vary from piece to piece — no two shades are identical, and yours will not match the photos exactly. This natural variation is part of the material's character and is not a defect.

Which size should I choose?

As a guide: the ∅ 30 cm suits hallways, small bedrooms, and entryways; the ∅ 40 cm works for most bedrooms and dining nooks; the ∅ 50 cm makes a bold statement over larger living rooms or open spaces. A common rule of thumb is roughly 1 inch of fixture diameter per foot of room width.

Is it dimmable? Do I need to buy bulbs?

Put this in the guest suite. Every visitor has commented on how substantial and beautiful the stone is.

The alabaster isn't too opaque. It has a beautiful translucency that highlights the stone's natural beauty.

We put this on the landing of our stairs. The stone bowl looks like glowing marble from the floor below.

Even with the bulbs on for hours, the stone shade remains cool to the touch. The ventilation is great.

The brass color is deep and rich, matching our other high-end hardware throughout the house.

This greets everyone at my front door. The golden tones of the metal are warm and welcoming.

There is zero glare from this lamp. The alabaster diffuses the light so evenly across the entire room.

Put this in our formal dining area. The antique brass finish has a beautiful, non-reflective patina.

The fixture is quite heavy, but the mounting hardware provided is very sturdy and holds it perfectly flush.

Perfect for the master bedroom. The light is filtered through the stone, creating a very relaxing atmosphere.

The detailing on the brass frame is incredibly sharp. You can see the precision in the ornate leaf patterns.

The alabaster bowl is thick and the natural mineral veins are visible when lit. Its clearly real stone.

I installed this in my upstairs hallway. The brass rim is substantial and gives the space a very upscale feel.
