Overview

The Norvelle Wall Sconce features two hand-cut alabaster cups joined at a sculpted brass center, mounted on a round solid brass backplate with subtle bronze tones. The dual-cup silhouette casts a bidirectional glow — soft warm uplight onto the wall above, gentle downlight to the floor below.

At 5.7″ wide × 14.2″ tall with a 4.7″ projection from the wall, the sculptural hourglass profile suits bedside reading, hallway wayfinding, mirror flanking in a powder room, or accent lighting beside artwork. Two G9 sockets (top + bottom) accept any compatible 5W bulb — pair with warm light LEDs for the most flattering glow.

Regarding the Alabaster: Each Norvelle cup is hand-cut from natural alabaster — varying in vein pattern, density, and undertone. While the piece you receive will resemble the images in its overall style, every item possesses its own unique character.

FAQ

Will my alabaster veining match the photo?
Not exactly — and that's the point. Each Norvelle cup is hand-cut from natural alabaster, so vein pattern, density, and undertone vary between pieces. Your sconce will share the same overall character as the photo (soft warm veining inside an hourglass silhouette) but the pattern of each cup is uniquely its own.
Are bulbs included? What kind should I use?
No bulbs included. The Norvelle takes two G9 base bulbs (top + bottom), MAX 5W per socket — 10W total. We recommend G9 LED bulbs in warm light tone — this enhances the brass tones and casts a soft, glare-free glow through both alabaster cups.
Is this wall sconce dimmable?
Dimmability comes from the bulb. The fixture works with any compatible G9 bulb up to 5W per socket — pair it with dimmable G9 LED bulbs and a compatible LED dimmer switch for full dimming control.
Can I install it above a bathroom vanity mirror?
The Norvelle is rated IP20 — well-suited to bedrooms, hallways, powder rooms, and living spaces. For full bathrooms with showers or tubs, we recommend a damp-rated fixture instead, especially within 3 ft of any direct water source.
Can I install it myself, or do I need an electrician?
The Norvelle is hardwired, so we recommend a licensed electrician — particularly if your wall box is not already prepared. Confirm the box can support the fixture's brass-and-stone weight before installing.

About the Material

A natural stone
with ancient origins.

Alabaster is a natural stone known for its smooth texture and translucent appearance. Its origins date back to ancient civilizations where it was used for sculpting and crafting objects of importance. There are two main types — Gypsum and Calcite — with the latter being the preferred choice for lighting fixtures due to its durability and natural veining.

The unique quality of alabaster is its ability to diffuse light in a soft, warm glow, making it a favorite for creating ambient lighting. It is often found in shades of white, ivory, and cream, though pink, amber, and gray variations also exist — each adding its own warmth to a room’s atmosphere.

Assembly and Light Test

After final assembly, each lamp is lit — to confirm every detail performs as the design intended.

Alabaster doesn’t reflect light — it holds it. Every lamp becomes a small vessel of warmth, shaped by hand, meant to last generations.
