About the Material

A natural stone
with ancient origins.

Alabaster is a natural stone known for its smooth texture and translucent appearance. Its origins date back to ancient civilizations where it was used for sculpting and crafting objects of importance. There are two main types — Gypsum and Calcite — with the latter being the preferred choice for lighting fixtures due to its durability and natural veining.

The unique quality of alabaster is its ability to diffuse light in a soft, warm glow, making it a favorite for creating ambient lighting. It is often found in shades of white, ivory, and cream, though pink, amber, and gray variations also exist — each adding its own warmth to a room’s atmosphere.

Craftsmanship

From stone
to light.

The process is a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern precision. Each piece begins as raw stone — and ends as a finished object meant to hold light.

01 / Sourcing
Selecting raw alabaster blocks

Selecting the Raw Stone

High-quality alabaster is sourced for its translucency and veining, then cut into workable blocks.

02 / Shaping
Cutting and shaping alabaster

Cutting and Shaping

Each block is cut and shaped with specialized tools — precision ensures form, balance, and structural strength.

03 / Carving
Artisan carving alabaster

Carving and Detailing

Artisans carve patterns — geometric, floral, abstract — enhancing the stone’s natural character.

04 / Polishing
Polishing alabaster

Polishing and Refining

Hand-polishing reveals the translucent glow — and eliminates every surface imperfection.

05 / Wiring
Installing electrical components

Electrical Assembly

The piece is drilled and fitted with components — every connection tested for safety and longevity.

06 / Testing
Final assembly and lighting test

Assembly and Light Test

After final assembly, each lamp is lit — to confirm every detail performs as the design intended.

Alabaster doesn’t reflect light — it holds it. Every lamp becomes a small vessel of warmth, shaped by hand, meant to last generations.
