Mouille a conçu ses luminaires anguleux en forme d'insectes comme "une réaction aux modèles italiens qui commençaient à envahir le marché en 1950", qu'il critiquait comme étant "trop compliqués".
Le plafonnier à trois bras (1958) est une interprétation suspendue de son plafonnier à trois bras original et conserve l'esthétique cinétique et sculpturale de l'original. Toutes ses solutions d'éclairage présentent les signatures caractéristiques de Mouille en tant que designer : la manière dont les bras sont reliés aux diffuseurs, la rondelle et la visserie à six pans, la forme des réflecteurs et les lignes raffinées du tube d'acier.
