RESUMO
A Luminária de Piso Akari faz parte das esculturas de luz Akari, concebidas em 1951 pelo artista americano-japonês. Escolheu o nome 'Akari' para estes objectos, uma palavra que significa 'luz' em japonês, conotando tanto a iluminação como a leveza física.
A inspiração para o design das luzes Akari provém de uma visita à aldeia de pesca japonesa de Gifu, onde observou os pescadores ao trabalho. Não apenas usam cormoães treinados para a pesca, mas também lanternas para atrair peixe. Estas lanternas tinham nervuras feitas de bambu, cobertas com papel fino.
Ele aproveitou o design destas lanternas tradicionais para criar esculturas de luz feitas de madeira e papel. Para a Luminária de Piso Akari, o designer utiliza papel da árvore da amoreira, porque suaviza a luz, tornando-a suave e espalhando-a de forma uniforme.

Very nice floor lamp that provides light in a otherwise dark corner of a room. the shade is white, it looks beige in the image. Lightbulbs are not included so that you can order a warm or cool light bulbs depending on your desire.
