Alabaster is a natural stone known for its smooth texture and translucent appearance. Its origins date back to ancient civilizations where it was used for sculpting and crafting objects of importance. There are two main types — Gypsum and Calcite — with the latter being the preferred choice for lighting fixtures due to its durability and natural veining.

The unique quality of alabaster is its ability to diffuse light in a soft, warm glow, making it a favorite for creating ambient lighting. It is often found in shades of white, ivory, and cream, though pink, amber, and gray variations also exist — each adding its own warmth to a room’s atmosphere.
