Linen, silk and pleated shades — around 650 pieces. Fabric diffuses across the whole surface rather than pushing light down in a cone, so there is no hard edge and no single hot spot.
Pleated and drum shades suit bedrooms, dining rooms and any space with a lot of hard surfaces to soften. A shade roughly twice the width of the lamp base reads balanced; taller narrow shades throw a tighter pool for a reading chair.
